Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units are designed to remove oil, grease, solids and/or flocs from wastewater that do not have sufficient buoyancy to float.
Colubris KCF Dissolved Air Flotation Unit
The KCF DAF unit is robustly built and compact, designed for treating large water flows. It removes suspended solids and other flocculated materials efficiently. It is particularly well suited to food processing applications including poultry, red meat and fish, where wastewater streams are characterised by high organic loads, elevated COD (chemical oxygen demand) levels and significant concentrations of fats, oils, grease and suspended solids.
Design and Separation Efficiency
Plate packs provide a large separation surface within the unit, resulting in optimal separation efficiency. Settling materials are removed by a stainless-steel sediment auger installed across the entire base of the unit.
Robust and compact in design, the Colubris KCF DAF features a stainless-steel tank, integrated aeration piping, large inlet and outlet connections and dedicated sediment handling components.
The entire design of the KCF series is based on avoiding hydraulic disturbances and maintaining steady laminar flow throughout the unit. The systems are equipped with a highly efficient micro-aeration system which ensures effective attachment of air bubbles to fine particles and flocs, enabling reliable removal even under challenging load conditions. In addition to floating contaminants, heavier settled solids are continuously extracted via the full-length stainless-steel sediment auger, supporting comprehensive clarification within a single integrated unit and enabling performance comparable to larger conventional systems.
